Before the Covid pandemic we hosted regular welcome meals for refugees in Exeter, UK.
During the Covid crisis we helped to feed struggling families who were unable to work during strict lockdowns in both Nepal and Uganda.
Also during the Covid lockdown, we sent donations to help courageous activists feed starving street dogs in Kathmandu.
We helped to create an organic vegetable garden at two schools in a remote area of Uganda, providing seeds and tools to give students the chance to enhance their meagre diet with a greater range of vegetables and fruit.
We provided poly-tunnels for five families in Nepal, thus allowing them to grow enough food to feed themselves and to sell some to others. This has both improved their diet and created small incomes where previously they had none.
In Gaza, we sponsored the planting of 130 olive trees on public land. Sadly, this potential food source for generations to come was destroyed by Israeli bombs at the end of 2023. We hope one day to replace them in a peaceful Gaza.
